On October 21, 1918, the Morrissey Internment Camp closed, bringing an end to one of the Elk Valley’s darkest chapters. On October 21, 2018 – 100 years ago to the day – a series of events will be held to commemorate the closing of the camp.
DINNER | Following the film, join us for a Ukrainian dinner at the Fernie Legion followed by talk and discussion with the film’s director and a panel of experts to discuss how as a community we can reconcile with this troubling chapter of the Elk Valley’s history. Advance dinner tickets are required, Tickets for the movie/dinner/talk event can be purchased here online or at the Fernie Museum for $25. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm, talk and panel discussion begins at 7:30 pm.
