The Fernie & District Historical Society is pleased to be working with the BC Regional Digital History (BCRDH) project to provide an online searchable database of the Fernie Museum historic photo collection.
The BCRDH is the evolution of the Digitized Okanagan History (DOH) project, which was conceived of as a unique regional partnership involving the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus Library and numerous community memory institutions, including the Fernie Museum. The project goal is to work collaboratively with partner organizations to improve access to a wide range of local historical resources through digitization.
Coordinated by the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus Library, the BC Regional Digitized History project is now entering its 5th year of operation. The initiative provides digitization services and a collaborative discovery platform for over 40 local heritage organizations arranged in two geographical regions in South-Eastern British Columbia.
